No immediate corrective action was taken. Calumet began clean up of oil and soil in excavation in area. Remediated soil to be managed on containment slab and manifested to landfill. On 10/22 a follow-up inspection was conducted to determine the clean-up status. Clean-up was performed on 10/7 and 10/16. Three confirmatory saples and one background were collected on 10/17. Waste generated from clean-up is stored at the facility holding slab until disposed at Woolworth Landfill. At the time of the inspection, stained soil spots were noted at various areas in the spill area. On 11/3 Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality received soil sample results. According to the results, Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon-Organic (TPH-O) was found to range from 771 mg/kg to 18829 mg/kg and Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon-Diesel (TPH-D) range from 678 mg/kg to 16876 mg/kg. Due to the historic contamination of the area and elevated levels of TPH, the site will be forwarded to remediation.
