A barge being used as a floating dock sank at Mile Marker 41 on the Atchafalaya River creating an oil sheen. Pontoon barge from the Alon Refining dock. crude oil, diesel, and other petroleum products in the pipe leading up from the barge.

Products were evacuated out of the lines before the barge sunk. Absorbent boom was deployed and the area was cleaned up. Oil Mop was on standby but was not needed. The US Coast Guard responded to the incident. There is no incident report from the refinery in the file. Missing refinery letters.
