Cause of Problem: Corrosion
Pipe on Avenue F between 7th and 8th Street was corroded. This led to a section of leaking pipe.
Discharge Preventable - No
Leak occurred due to an unexpected piping failure.
Notes/Remedial Actions
RQ exceeded. Leaking pipe was isolated and a temporary clamp was placed over the leak. The line will be permanently repaired. Vacuum trucks were used to collect material, and the contaminated soil is in the process of being removed. No groundwater impacts were expected.
