Accident Classified As: Below Reportable Quantity (BRQ)
No Information Given
Leak was contained within the unit and routed to oily-water sewer (DOW) so no kerosene was released to soil or water. The volume of kerosene leaked and the subsequent air emissions were calculated and found to be less than 100-pounds (lbs) for each compound, xylene (10 lbs) and naphthalene (15 lbs). Therefore, the 100-pound RQs for both constituents were not exceeded. Additionally, the 1,000-lb LSP flammable material RQ was not exceeded, as 140 lbs of flammable VOC was emitted to the atmosphere.
